Myazwe grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, listening to Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, who all became significant musical influences to him. Myazwe’s cousins, 3x Grammy nominated Minnesota rapper, Allan Kingdom, and Mungala, who was apart of the rap group,“The Lytics”, were both influential figures in his musical career. Myazwe wrote his first rap in high school and dropped his first solo song called “Mathematics” under the name “Oz Jackson” after graduation. A year and a half later, he signed to a local record label, but resigned in 2015 due to creative differences.
In 2016, he started going by his birth name “Myazwe”. His music had evolved and became more personal, therefore, Myazwe wanted to narrate the stories as himself, rather than through a fictional character. In February 2017, he dropped his debut album “E: My Experiences On Empty”. In October 2017, he moved to Atlanta for four months to diversify his skill set in a new environment. After returning home to Winnipeg, in January 2018, he began working on his second album “Things I Never Said”.
In January 2019, LinkUp Connect officially began working with Myazwe. His second album, “Things I Never Said”, dropped in May of 2019. The album debuted at a sold out album release party. "Things I Never Said" was featured in Lyrical Lemonade and Exclaim Magazine. With hopes of going on tour in 2020, Myazwe continues to write, record and produce new music.
